We know that Abraham Terwilliger was born in Schawangunk, New York, according to the baptismal records of the Dutch Reformed Church.  Sometime about 1825 he moved to Pennsylvania.  He and his wife Hannah settled in the Columbia County town of Bloomsburg.  In the 1860 census, his occupation is listed as "hatter". They remained  in Bloomsburg for the rest of their lives.  Hannah died in Bloomsburg on
December 2, 1854.  Abraham died in Bloomsburg on September 15, 1860.They are both buried in the
Old Lutheran Cemetery in Bloomsburg.
