William Kaylor Terwilliger
William Kaylor Terwilliger and Lydia Nagle, they were married on December 24, 1837, in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvqania
William K. and Lydia moved to Logan County, Arkansas in the 1860's from Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. They came west with Williams's sister and her family, Gideon and Martha Jane Mutchler. At one time William wanted to go back to Pennsylvania but Lydia wouldn't go. She said "I'll never cross that river again", referring to their frightening crossing of the Mississippi River on barges. They first settled on Mt Magazine but moved after a short time two miles west of the present day Booneville. William farmed here for the rest of his life. Some of what it was like to live at the turn of the century can be seen through letters written by William and other members of his family to Harriet Paul Terwilliger Martindale who had moved with her family to Massachusetts where her husbands' family was from. William and Lydia are buried in Oak Hill Cemetery Booneville, Arkansas
